Community Aquaponics Garden April Update

Seven months after planting, the community garden is dominated by the red okra tree and eggplant bush. Apart from covering the sign, we all agree this is a good thing - the eggplants are second to none, and the okra is a great addition to stir-fries.

There's still abundant herbs available, and another crop of tomatoes is starting. The Aquaponics water has had DTPA Iron Chelate added over the past month instead of the regular Liquid Iron, and the plants. The plants have been performing great with both products, the benefit is that a lot less chelate is required than the liquid,

It's almost time to harvest some more fish too, they're getting big and everyone is eyeing them off and discussing how they taste - customers and staff alike!
